We're here at the very end of our last full week in Texas. The packers come Monday, the movers come Tuesday, we go to Houston on Wednesday to stay the night with friends, then leave Texas for good on Thursday morning to head east.
But today had a milestone of its own - Jenna's last day at Spenco, the company she's worked for for the past three and a half years. She'll post more about that later, but her last day allowed for another significant event. Back in March when we celebrated our third anniversary, one of the gifts I gave her was a "To Do List" for our foreseeable future starting on March 11th (our anniversary). I included every major event I could think of at the time starting with "Celebrate 3rd Anniversary", and I wrote it all in my most bestest handwriting.
And sure enough, almost 4 months to the day later, we were able to check off the final item. The list was:
Celebrate 3rd Anniversary
Defend dissertation
Submit final copy of dissertation
Last day of teaching at Baylor
Go to DC to interview
Haley Brown (Jenna's college roommate and friend) visits
Jenna goes to Missouri/Matt goes To Atlanta
Accept a job offer
Find out if the flower bulbs Jenna transplanted would survive (they did!)
Go on an apartment hunting trip (which was successful)
Jenna's Mom arrives to visit and for graduation
Aiken crew arrives to visit and for graduation
Graduation
Jenna's last day at Spenco
We definitely didn't get them done in order, but as of today, we've gotten them all done.
Meanwhile, Jenna is working hard planning for a garage sale tomorrow morning to get rid of some stuff we don't need, and I'm working hard at getting utilities, insurance, etc. stuff taken care of.
It's going to be an exhausting week, but we're both excited!
