Washington DC

Last Saturday we made our first jaunt into the heart of DC. Nine dollars and 45 minutes after leaving our apartment we were excitedly walking on the mall. The Metro trip was relatively quick, easy & budget friendly. We walked and walked and walked and saw the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Capitol, White House, Jefferson Memorial, and the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. Some of those things we only saw from far away, but we did see them! :o)

Too cool!!!! Let's see...if 45 minutes we could be in Cullman! No monuments that I know of there. :)

Heh, that one of Matt looking at Congress is just begging for a thought-balloon caption. :)

Next time, go to the Air and Space museum and think of me. Sigh.

Jason - just come visit us and we won't have to think of you - we'll just talk to you. And what would the balloon caption say?

Doesn't seeing all of the monuments give you an awesome sense of responsibility and make you proud of our forefathers and their accomplishments? We need to make sure we keep our country free. Your photos were beautiful. It was great seeing you both. We miss you. Kathy taught me how to look at and respond to your blog. :) Hope all is well in the big city.
